Sandra first came to us around 10 years ago as a cook in the cafe, then moved over to the shop where she sells, takes orders and keeps the shop very tidy. When Daf’s away she also cuts up our fabrics to make blankets, throws and cushions to order.
Sean first came to us over 11 years ago as a barista in the cafe, got interested in what went on in the mill and now works there, setting up the machines, and beaming off.
He was recently elected a trustee director in our new EOT (employee owned trust)
Earlier this year Paolo Carzana was awarded the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN initiative award to show at London Fashion Week in September.
We supported Paolo with fabric when he was a student, so he felt this would be an amazing opportunity to bring Melin Tregwynt into high end fashion with his collection.
Geoff has always been a big part of the Melin Tregwynt team since he joined us over 17 years ago. A man of many talents, he started as a weaver in the mill, working his way up to becoming the manager.
You'll see him out and about, as from 2017 he became our site/maintenance manager.
The fourth Trefin Classic Car event was held on Saturday 10th Sept and they stopped at Melin Tregwynt for a coffee break.
A wonderful mix of beautiful cars took part with their proud owners and great fun was had by all including those many people along the route who came out to cheer them on.
Hello my name is Molly Gregory and I am recent women’s wear knit gradate from Kingston School of Art where I studied fashion design.
My final collection ‘Y Cymoedd’ has taken inspiration from my Welsh heritage and the desire to pay homage to that and will be displayed at Melin Tregwynt from 5th - 30th September 2022.
Katherine joined us in 2014, starting work in the cafe and moving to the mill from 2015 onwards. She is a great all-rounder who can prepare a warp, and weave, and complete the paperwork for the finished fabric to go on to the finishers…
When she’s not working Katherine is a keen lepidopterist who studies moths and butterflies and has started a survey of butterflies that she’s observed in our new wildflower meadow, here at the mill.
Responsible for greeting all of our customer orders out on time he's the man who kept all the internet orders flowing during lockdown. We couldn’t have donme it without him.
Ian has just been appointed as a director of our Employee Ownership Trust
Louise manages the shop & café here and will be celebrating 10 years at the mill in January 2023.
All our visitors both new and regular appreciate her friendly face and warm welcome.
Louise became a director of the new Employee Ownership Trust in May 2022 and after two years of covid restrictions she and her team have lots of plans for events in the mIll shop and café from June onwards .
In the months ahead you'll get to meet the rest of our team...
We believe that good design is all about getting the details right and we try to make things that are useful, beautiful and a little bit special.
Everyone here at the mill has their own story and this is an opportunity to get to know our team a little better. This month features Dafydd who looks after our fabric stock, cutting the rolls to make blankets, throws and cushions. He’s also a keen photographer and takes pictures of the finished products for our website.
