We still weave our cloth in the old whitewashed mill that my grandfather bought in 1912. If he came back to visit us today, he would still recognise the work being done, and the traditional skills of our weavers.

Its the skills and knowledge of our staff that have kept the tradition of Welsh weaving alive here at Melin Tregwynt. Our Employee Ownership Trust will be set up in April 2022, when shares will be held in a trust for the staff, giving them all a stake in the business.

Back in 2019 ‘Caru Canu’ was a series of animated Welsh nursery rhymes which launched on Cyw, S4C and YouTube. It was produced by Twt Productions, working with Picl Animation and the talented animation students at Cardiff Met.

An exhibition to showcase the coats and the lining print designs will take place at Melin Tregwynt from the 23rd of August until the 1st of October.

The second Trefin Classic Car event was held successfully in wonderful weather on Saturday. Due to Covid-19 restrictions this year it was held as a run.
Starting in Goodwick the route went along scenic country roads to Melin Tregwynt for a coffee break and then via Mathry, Croesgoch, to Llanrhian, ending at the Ship Inn at Trefin.
Aelwen has been a member of staff at the Mill since 12th September 1994. She knows the business inside and out, and in her spare time she enjoys writing a poem or two.
