from Carmel King a freelance photographer based between London and the South West.
For the last five years she has dedicated herself to documenting makers and manufacturers across the UK, capturing work spaces, processes, machinery and craftsmanship. Often the factories and workshops she visits are run by second, third and even fourth generation family members and the making process has changed very little over the generations.
Carmel's own family had a three generation textile firm in the North of England, which has inspired her to document others that still exist and are practising today.
