Four coats have been made with fabric from Melin Tregwynt’s ‘Ysbryd’ (spirit) collection; a collection of bold blanket weaves inspired by the colours and spirit of Wales and its landscape.

The fifth coat has been designed to represent the concept of a broader landscape, and has been made with Melin Tregwynt’s ‘Nexus’ fabric; a fabric with a geometric pattern in grey tones. Whereas the other coats embody Wales, this coat offers a different perspective of the shared human experience, beyond land borders and cultural boundaries.

Mae pedair cot wedi eu gwneud gyda defnydd o gasgliad ‘Ysbryd’ Melin Tregwynt; casgliad o wehyddion blanced trawiadol sy’n dehongli lliwiau ag ysbryd tirlun Cymru.

Dyluniwyd y bumed got i gynrychioli cysyniad tirwedd ehangach, ac fe’i gwnaed gyda defnydd ‘Nexus’ Melin Tregwynt; defnydd gyda phatrwm geometrig mewn arlliwiau llwyd. Tra bo'r cotiau eraill yn ymgorffori Cymru, mae'r got hon yn cynnig persbectif gwahanol o'r profiad dynol a rennir, y tu hwnt i ffiniau tir a ffiniau diwylliannol.

The lining print patterns compliment and amplify the theme, design and colours of each fabric and have evolved from hand illustrations, paintings and paper cuts.

They were developed in collaboration with @stickyjim76 and screen printed by hand at The Printhaus, Cardiff.

Mae’r patrymau print leinin yn cyd-fynd ag ac yn ategu at thema, lliw a phatrwm pob defnydd ac yn seiliedig ar waith darlunio â llaw, paentio a thoriadau papur.

Fe'u datblygwyd mewn cydweithrediad â @stickyjim76 ac fe’u printiwyd â llaw yn The Printhaus, Caerdydd.

Tailored Landscape

An exhibition to showcase the coats and the lining print designs will take place at Melin Tregwynt from the 23rd of August until the 1st of October.

It will be possible to talk to Catherine and arrange trying on the coats on the following days:

• Friday September 3rd: 11am - 2pm

• Tuesday September 7th: 11am - 2pm.

• Friday October 1st: 2pm - 5pm

You can find Melin Tregwynt off the A487 Fishguard to St. David’s road. Entrance is free, we are open all year round, and you can see the mill working from 9.00am – 4.30pm Mon-Friday (with lunch break at 1.00pm).
